HISTORY OF KARIDAT
Karidat is a federally recognized 501-c-3 non-profit social service agency in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Karidat was established on May 5, 1980, as the Northern Mariana Islands as Catholic Social Services. In the spring of 1991, the Board of Directors of Northern Mariana Islands Catholic Social Services changed the name to Karidat. Karidat is one of the oldest social service agencies in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Affiliations
Karidat is associated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Chalan Kanoa, on Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Karidat is a member of Catholic Charities USA, the CNMI Family Violence Tasks Force, the CNMI Homeless Coalition, the CNMI Human Trafficking Intervention, and the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.
Karidat is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment that values diversity, promotes respect, and celebrates the unique perspectives and experiences of all individuals, particularly those from minority and marginalized communities.
